Can anyone tell me the best way to incorporate a Word Document into a SHFB project?

Should I convert the document(s) to Conceptual content? Is there a convertor?

Can I save the documents as a certain file format that SHFB can suck in?

You can embed documents in the help with a link to them. When clicked they'd be launched using the associated application. Note that this method does not work for all help formats though. If you are asking if the content can be viewed inline like any other topic with a link in the TOC, no, it has to be converted to MAML or HTML for that to occur. There are no tools that will convert Word documents to something that SHFB can use so you'll have to do it by hand. You may be able to save them as HTML files and include them but that format is deprecated and the Word HTML output is pretty ugly and verbose. I'd suggest spending the time to convert them to MAML and maintain them that way.
