How can I build to see the currently edited conceptual file in VS 2010 (F5 in SHFB).

Is there is an option to view just the current file (not to build the whole project) for example:

F5 - build the current file

Ctrl + F5 - build the whole content and see the file

The VSPackage is still under development.  You can edit conceptual topics with IntelliSense but the preview option along with several of the file editors (i.e. content layout, site map, token files, etc) are not done yet.  See the project work items for a list of features still under development.  To preview topics, you still need to use the standalone GUI.  The standalone GUI and Visual Studio monitor for changes so it's possible to edit in one and switch to the other, have it reload the topic, and then preview it.

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation.

What is the expected time frame for preview of conceptual topics in VS and for editing the content layout files (if such is set).

I don't currently have a time frame.  I work on the open items as time permits but haven't had the opportunity to do so lately.
