I working on to generate an API document using sandcastle project. I am generating document in HTML format.

Couple of things which i have done dor my project documentatioon is
  1. Adding an Custom Index page which will also navigate to the corresponding items on there click.
  2. Grouping of namesapces. Bundling the similar class into a one namespace
My requirement is to add an Forward/Backward icon on every page to navigate back and forth. Don't want to use browser navigation.

Please help me how to achieve this functionality.

An simple link with or without an image with a bit of JavaScript on clicking them to navigate backwards or forwards would do the trick. You'll probably want to update the XSL transformation parts that renders the page header if that's were you want the links to go. The main_conceptual.xsl and utilities_reference.xsl transformations would be the place to start. Search for "<head" or "<body". From there you can figure out where the changes should go which will vary depending on which presentation style you are using.
