Error BE0065: BUILD FAILED: Access to the path 'entries' is denied.

Hi,

SHFB: Error BE0065: BUILD FAILED: Access to the path 'entries' is denied.

had this error on a simple project that was compiling help okay just yesterday.  Has anyone found a solution for it?

I haven't deleted or changed anything, and can't find a folder anywhere called 'entries'.  Also, I restarted the PC thinking perhaps there is a file locked somewhere.

The main change in the last day was going through and putting in <para> </para> tags.

thanks,
Steven

it looks like Sandcastle is trying to pull information out of hidden SVN folders.

What part of the build is it doing when the error occurs?  Can you post a bit more of the surrounding log file to provide more context?

It doesn't look like it got very far.

Hi,

This isn't a solution, but the steps to get sandcastle to compile again are:
1. Go to project folder with windows explorer
2. Ctrl+F
3. find and delete all *.svn folders

We must assume that sandcastle goes into a hidden .SVN folder and tries to open the 'entries' file.  Perhaps there is an exclusive lock on this svn system file made by the TortoiseSVN XP shell integration.

deleteing the .\help\working folder allows Sandcastle Document Builder to get further into the build process, but it is still failing...

Since it appears to be having problems with the working and help folders, perhaps you should exclude them from source control.  If there's a process running that is using that folder, SHFB won't be able to delete it.
