Problems adding an image to Conceptual Content (noob warning)

Aug 2, 2011 at 9:31 PM

I only just started using Sandcastle a few days ago and I'm under a lot of pressure to create usable docs.

I have been trying to a a simple png image file to a conceptual content page. The examples are no help and there is no reference on how to do this.

I have added the image file to the Project Explorer and the build action is Image. All the examples use a GUID to reference the image, but none is visible yo me in Sancastle to use.

I have tried

<section>

<title>Entity Overview</title>

<content>

 <para>Some text here!</para>

<medialink>

<image placement="center" xlink:href="emGraphic01"/>

</medialink>

</content>

</section>

but NOTHING comes out except the Some text here! !!!! I've been banging my head all day on this!!! Any help please or I have to punt and release with a pdf file!

The parent element name is "mediaLink" with an uppercase "L" on "Link".  Also, make sure the href ID on the image element matches the ImageId property on the image file in the project explorer window.  If you use the Entity References window to list the images in the project, you can drag and drop them from there into the documents and they will be added with the proper element name and ID.

Wow... Hard to believe; all the grief over something as dumb as an "L"

Thanks E;

You helped me out of a jam caused by my own blindness.
