How to link additional content to help content?

Apr 11, 2008 at 9:24 AM

I'm currently creating a Help File that uses aditional content.

How can I hyperlink a word to the desired location?

For instance, let's say I have a method named XYZ on my control named ABC and on my additional content I writing a phrase like:

...and when you use the <a href="{how do I link to the method ABC.XYZ}">XYZ</a> method it will return 4 if it's Sunday and a Full Moon, 8 if it's Saturday and it's raining and also give you a backrub.

Use a <see> tag like you would in XML comments. It will attempt to resolve it to an API topic. The more you qualify the name, the better the match. It uses the cref value as the inner text if none is specified. If you don't get the results you expect, you can check the build log to see what it found and what it ended up using. See the Linking to Namespace Content topic under The GUI Project Manager / Additional Content Properties section for more information.
