Hi,

As I know, the encoding of html files generating by SHFB is "UTF-8".

I would like to know if it is possible to change the encoding.

thanks!

When producing an HTML help 1 file, the encoding is altered based on the project's language setting using the locale IDs in the SandcastleHtmlExtract.exe.config file found in the SHFB installation folder.  No such changes are made for the other output formats.  If you want to permanently change the encoding, you can modify the XSL transformations for the selected presentation style.  Search for the "Content-Type" <meta> element in conceptual.xsl and utilities_reference.xsl.  You'll find them in the %ProgramFiles%\Sandcastle\Presenation\VS2005\transforms folder.
